The finished product has the look and feel of traditional stained glass, but with the strength and integrity of a solid piece of safety glass. Each piece is custom designed and can be installed over, or in place of, existing glass.

What is SGO - Stained Glass Overlay?

SGO stands for "Stained Glass Overlay."

SGO is an overlay process which utilizes a unique process combining multiple materials ( glass, lead, multi-layered polyester film, bevels, jewels, etc) to form a solid piece of decorative art glass. The finished product has the look and feel of traditional stained glass, but with the strength and integrity of a solid piece of safety glass. Each piece is custom designed to meet the needs and desires of our individual customers and can be installed over, or in place of, existing glass. With over 300 colors and textures available and complete design flexibility, Stained glass overlay is a great solution for a wide range of decorative glass applications.

Stained Glass Overlay provides privacy while still allowing the transmission of light. The product is lightweight, seamless, air tight. Water tight, and contains ultraviolet inhibitors to protect from fading. It meets building codes for safety glass and requires little maintenance. There is virtually no limit to the size and type of design that can be created and unsightly reinforcement bars are not needed.

Care and Maintenance
Stained Glass Overlay panes are easy to clean, requiring nothing more than normal cleaning solutions and a soft cloth. All you do is put your window cleaner on a soft cloth rather than spray directly onto the window.

Warranty
The stained Glass Overlay product carries a 10 year limited warranty.

SGO is proud of it's reputation as a "problem solver". We are always seeking to extend the coundaries of glass and design with our diverse product offerings

Typical Lead time
Average fabrication lead time is 4 to six weeks from the completion and approval of designs.

Costs
Our costs for SGO start at $110.00 a square foot. Orders less than 2 sq feet are priced slightly higher. Custom designs will be priced at a higher level and depends on the complexity of the design and the work need to complete it. Be assured you will know the completed cost after the design is completed and before fabrication begins.

Additional Costs
Designer fees-minimum $95.00 for standard designs. Additional designer/cad time price dictated by design requirements. If your design contains bevels or jewells they are priced in addition. Installation is priced in addition to design fees and designer fees. Minimum installation fee is $100.00.
